The Tutoring Center (1992-present)
The tutoring center is currently housed on the 1st floor of the Annex. When construction is completed, it will be on the 4th floor.
UPAVIM also maintains a tutoring center with international volunteers working as teachers. It is open 5 days a week to all of the children in the community with a special focus on students with scholarships and children of the community who do not attend school. In the tutoring center, the children receive help with their homework, do research and read. The older scholarship students also work as volunteers in the center to fulfill the requirements of their scholarship.
The tutoring center is an island of calm for many kids in this troubled neighborhood.
